MISSION STATEMENT
The most important goal is to make sure that no other family will ever have to go through what we have gone through. The most important suggestion that we can give you is to get a second or third opinion from institutions that specialize in MSA disease i.e. Parkinson’s syndrome and Parkinsonism. Our goal is to concentrate on the Multiple System Atrophy Disease, specifically to spread better awareness by sharing Mumma Maria’s story to health care providers including educators, radiologists, physicians, physician assistants, nurses, emergency/trauma units, advocates, caregiver, children, family members and friends who may be involved with the patient.
We want to share our experiences and give some of the most important items that the family will need to get through this before the inevitable and unfortunate end of life scenario. Such as proper durable medical equipment, physical therapy equipment, and everyday life experiences that you can expect based on our unfortunate experiences. We can’t let the 6 plus years of Mumma Maria’s suffering go left untold.
MUMMA MARIA
Mumma Maria has left us a tremendous spiritual image of what we believe to be the Holy Spirit coming out of the water; raising her up into the tree. Next to her image is an image of what we believe to be Father Solanus Casey, who is one step away from being a saint. This may be the miracle we are looking for.
I believe what happened to Maria began December of 2011 and this confirms my conviction. Maria always said that it was her in the tree. Both images are similar to photos that had been taken of them. I hadn’t seen the image of her until one evening in January of 2018.
Maria was misdiagnosed almost 6 years ago with Parkinson’s disease and in September 2017 the Mayo Clinic re-diagnosed Maria with MSA (Multiple System Atrophy). The cerebellum in her brain had been shrinking and 9 months later Maria had decided it was time to go. We wish this disease on no family! Our goal is to let her legacy, Mumma Maria, live forever.
